NBC excluded Dennis Kucinich from their own “debates” just before the Nevada primaries by re-writing their criteria, so it’s more than a bit hypocritical for them to be judging ABC. Still, Olbermann does bring up some good points, and I’ve gotta give credit where credit is due. ABC’s motives deserve harsher review from the media.

You may remember that Kucinich and Gravel, the only two anti-war voices in the Democratic presidential run, were excluded by ABC just before the New Hampshire primaries. Gotcha questions and conflicts of interest were issues brought up by Kucinich and Gravel supporters from the very first ABC forum.

All of these “debates” were a farce from the beginning. NBC may actually start critiquing ABC now that right-wing interests are affecting the two remaining Democrats, who were previously untouched frontrunners, but this style of attack is nothing new. Remember Tim Russert’s UFO question to Dennis Kucinich? It’s a shame Hillary, Obama, and even Olbermann didn’t object to that question when it killed the campaign of one of the non-corporate candidates.

One Response to “Sean Hannity Wrote Stephanopoulos Debate Question”

  1. I have to agree that these debates are a farce.

Considering that no one in the democratic party was willing to debate on Fox news, but all the republicans were more than willing to debate on cnn, msnbc or any other station, I think it odd that Obama and Clinton can’t handle one question coming from Sean Hannity. Whoever is going to be president will be pres of all America, not just one party, and should be able to handle important and relevant questions about judgment and character regardless of where they are sourced.

By the way, this is coming from someone who voted for Clinton, Gore and Kerry.
