With several never-ending wars being waged, civil and human rights being violated, growing economic disparity, and discontent at an all time high, the Democrats couldn’t have imagined a better atmosphere in which to win the presidency. Would they even need to campaign to beat the Republicans? It seemed there was no possible way the Dems could throw away this election… but then the unexpected happened. They rediscovered their inner-dumbfucks.

Howard Dean, current leader of the dumbfuck brigade, is ready to seize defeat from the jaws of victory, utilizing his extensive experience of failure. Thanks Democrats for reminding me why I voted for Nader during the past two elections. I know Democrats aren’t fond of the truth anymore than their “friends” on the other side of the aisle, but Ralph was right all along. If you can’t win against such an easy opponent, then you deserve to lose. Maybe, just maybe, the problem was with you all along.

One Response to “The Colbert Report - Electability”

  1. Laughing. But also weeping.

Why are we so addled on the left?

I guess it doesn’t help that we frequently pity ourselves for being addled, and it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy…

But at any rate, we need to learn to vote for whom we want to elect, not to vote for whom we think others will also be voting for.

And there is the fact that the media, focusing on the horse-race of the election, tell us over and over that we care about “electability”. Its hard not to care about it when such loud voices already tell us we do.

    Now mostly just weeping.
