No cameras or lights were used to make this video. Instead, 3D images were captured using plotting technologies (Geometric Informatics and Velodyne LIDAR) to collect information about the shapes and relative distances of objects. 64 lasers rotated 900 times per minute to provide the data for these visualizations. To get an idea of what the hell I’m talking about, watch the making of the video.

As if that wasn’t awesome enough, Radiohead has put additional pieces of the data online for fans to create their own visualizations. Go here to find the data to create your own visualizations and upload them here where several other fan videos of the song are already viewable.
