First off, allow me to say that I love this song, but it seems Nas falls into the trap that many disenchanted Americans have in trying to create a successful rebel movement by following one member of the bourgeoisie out of hatred for another. Nas’ message would be much truer had he been able to denounce all members of the global power structure rather than pick sides between them.

With that said, Nas has indeed created a powerful song with wordplay that bends the mind, and does get around to mentioning CBS, Comcast, and even Viacom (the media conglomerate that owns Comedy Central). Kudos for saying something Nas. Most rappers have been entirely absent on the political front for the past decade.
