Evo won a huge victory against the racist separatists who are trying desperately to maintain their illegitimate rule. Much to the dismay of a handful of governors, more than 63 percent voted to back Morales’ government, which is nearly ten points more than the 54 percent that elected him in 2005. This is a great victory for the proletariat of all nations. As I’ve said before, when a democratic revolution comes to North America it’ll come from the south.

Jim Shultz has a more in depth analysis of the referendum here.

  3. In the past we have been at the mercy of the ones that dominate. And that dominance was from cultures that thought in terms of hierarchy, whether it was from EuroAsian communism or from imperialist capitalist or from fascism. Now we have a welcoming and needed new culture, as Indigenous one from Bolivia. An Indigenous culture that knows too well the victimization by cultures that insist on subjugation of people in order to grab and take. The taking has been too long and it has caused damage to the human spirit as well as to the degradation of our environment. There is no turning back, it is imperative that there has to be change for our survival and Indigenous countries like Bolivia should be in front for this desperate change.
