“The 3rd World” is Immortal Technique’s most substantial release since 2005’s absolutely classic Revolutionary Vol. 2. Unfortunately Team Technique has yet to grasp the importance of a good YouTube video or two of tracks from the album, so I’m posting this impressive promo freestyle instead.
While technically a mixtape, there’s a lot of material here (16 tracks) and Immortal Technique comes with emotional force and solid rhymes as always. While the release lacks some of the originality and lyrical cogency of Revolutionary Vol. 2 (buy/download that right away if you haven’t heard it), it comes from the undisputed king of politically charged independent hip hop so it’s obviously worth a listen.

Sage Francis is also great imo.

No doubt. I love Sage Francis. I need to listen to his latest album a bit more. I had A Healthy Distrust on constant rotation for months a couple years ago. Saw both Sage and Immortal Technique at Rock the Bells last summer in NYC. Tech was only on for 10-15 minutes and was alright. Sage blew it up on the second stage for a good 45 minutes.
