Cynthia McKinney is interviewed by Riz Khan on Al Jazeera international. A good introduction to Cynthia and her trumping of the third party vote. Cynthia wears a head scarf, presumably as an homage to Arab-American voters. She knows her target voter well.

  1. Actually, the majority of Arab-Americans are Christian (lots of Lebanese ex-pats, including Ralph Nader). And it still seems a little odd, because elsewhere she doesn’t wear the hijab, and Al-Jazeera regularly employs unveiled foxy ladies (such as Ghida Fakhry), even on its Arabic-language channel.

  2. Yes I noticed previously that Al Jazeera english has plenty of foxy ladies. McKinney mus have decided herself to wear it.

  3. I’ve kinda gotten sick of Al-Jazeera. I’m glad they’re able to make honest criticisms of U.S. foreign policy, but that’s about it. The whole network is intensely pro-capitalist. This was evident in how they handled the recent economic crisis on Wall Street. This fact isn’t surprising, considering it’s based in Doha; the whole Gulf region is almost the labor exploitation capital of the world. Oh, and the Arabic-language channel is so ridiculously sensationalist, they get some of the wackiest guests you can imagine on there, and have silly and stupid “debates” with lots of rhetoric and bullshit.

Going in a completely different direction… I don’t know if I should vote for McKinney or Nader (or not vote at all, to be consistent with my Anarchist principles, but I’m not that consistent anyways, so I think I will vote). I live in Texas, which is not a swing state (so there’s almost zero chance of being a “spoiler”). And I also have to turn in a write-in ballot for any third-party candidate except Bob Barr. Since Nader appears more popular, I’m tempted to go with him, since it may shake things up a little more. But I’m still not 100% sure.

  4. Well she isn’t the sharpest tool in the box, as the saying goes. She was interviewed earlier today on “Talk of the Nation”, on NPR, and she was a babbling idiot. More than most politicians, she could answer the simpliest of questions. Constantly rambling on and on about her version of American history, fractured half-truths and general nonsense.

I think Palin may even beat her out on the intelligence meter.
