Tonight, independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader and Constitution Party candidate Chuck Baldwin will have a 3rd Party debate, hosted by Free and Equal. They will be debating live on C-SPAN. Click here to watch it at 9pm EST. The event will be moderated by the always awesome Chris Hedges.

Green Party candidate Cynthia McKinney and Libertarian Party candidate Bob Barr have been invited but haven’t committed to attend. I personally know that Barr is a douche, and that’s why he’s not attending (originally he wanted the debate to be just between him and Ralph). Not sure yet what Cynthia’s reason is. If anyone knows more feel free to share in the comments section.

One Response to “Live Third Party Debate Tonight on C-SPAN”

  1. So this Baldwin guy is scarier than I thought. He’s a religious fundamentalist, he has sympathy for the Confederates, is unflinchingly pro-gun, is unmercifully anti-immigrant (Ralph Nader at least expressed sympathy for their plight, Baldwin none), anti-gay, says that our culture has become “matriarchal” and we need to become more manly.

His economic policy is “FREE MARKET.” He refused to get more specific in this recent debate. Elsewhere he has proposed getting rid of the FDA.

His foreign policy is “NO TO THE NWO.” This is somewhat absurd. After Nader talked extensively about Israel/Palestine, Baldwin said “we need to connect this to the larger ‘globalist’ agenda.” The irony is that the US and Israel (plus the occasional Pacific island nation, like Palau) are virtually alone in staunchly opposing UN Resolutions 242 and 194, which form the basis of the international consensus for peace in Israel/Palestine. Whether one agrees with a two-state solution is a separate matter. The point is that Baldwin has it exactly backwards; the US is a rogue state internationally, not a slave to the “globalist” agenda and the UN. This is evidenced by the fact that the US has vetoed more UN resolutions than any other nation with veto power, since 1965 (before 1965 it was overwhelmingly the Soviet Union). Most of these vetoes are against resolutions concerning the Middle East.

    What a total loony.
