Kellogg’s brand reputation has suffered significantly after the company announced it would not renew its endorsement contract with Michael Phelps because he likes to smoke a little herb. Out of the 5,600 company reputations Vanno monitors, Kellogg ranked 9th before it came out against potheads. Now it’s ranked 83. Not even an industry-wide peanut scare inflicted as much damage on the food company’s reputation!

  1. Cornflakes are not exactly the food I would reach for once the munchies set in.

  2. What about rice crispie treats or maybe some keebler cookies. Oh yeah, they will feel this. I mean who wouldn’t want to eat some rainbow chip deluxe cookies? I’ll tell you who, stoners who vote with their dollar.

  3. All one has to do is reach for a different brand, so it’s not like any stoners did a major thing. Generics are usually cheaper anyway. If Kellogg’s had proudly continued Phelps endorsements, then the company could have had people reaching for more of their sugary crap instead of less.

Stoners these days are often increasingly conformist (just my opinion). All of the stoners I know work really hard, are moderate about most issues and think weed is the best thing ever. I have met exactly none who actually care about the news or politics, unless it directly affects them. I find it very disappointing that marijuana culture is so mainstream few see anything wrong with intellectual apathy. They are almost as guilty as the Bush Administration for what happened since 2002, and since January as the new face of authoritarianism has taken over.
