Former congresswoman and presidential candidate for the Green Party Cynthia McKinney calls WBAIX during her second day in prison. She was kidnapped by Israel for attempting to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza. There has been no statement from the Obama Administration, which is apparently intent on making Cynthia invisible like they did during the campaign. Coverage has also been non-existent from the Western media, which recently couldn’t stop reporting about the strong arm tactics and human rights violations of the Iranian regime. Rather, what’s been dominating not only the corporate news but the blogosphere and twitter is Sarah Palin’s latest plea for attention.

  1. Except that Ms. McKinney is, in my opinion, as much of a media attention whore as Sarah Palin. This tactic seems as self-serving as anything Palin did.

I stopped taking her seriously after she tried to play the race card when she was still a Representative and had to eat her words with a public apology. I know quite a bit about her, since she was omnipresent in Atlanta when I lived there, and even watched a sympathetic documentary in which she took a prominent role. I think the real similarity they both have is an incredible narcissism that now has destroyed both of their political careers.

  2. Perhaps the reason the Obama Administration does not want to call attention to Ms McKinney is because she is fraking crackpot.

This woman claims Obama was born in Kenya.
This woman claims that 5,000 people died from Katrina.
    She’s a 9/11 MIHOP truther
She’s a bigot and totally out of her mind.

Yeah .. if I were the Obama administration, I’d do everything I could to distance myself from a loon like that, too.

  3. @Comrade Kevin

Narcissist or not, the point is that a US citizen is being held on trumped up charges and in inhumane conditions by a country which is supposedly our ally. I don’t like Sarah Palin but I wouldn’t argue that her being locked up for delivering aid to Palestine is acceptable because she rubs me the wrong way.
