Davis Fleetwood - Lesser of Two Evils

October 24th, 2008 by Manila Ryce

Though I consider myself a great fan of Chomsky and Zinn, I do disagree with them from time to time. The major difference I see between Noam, who is a part of the always defeatist liberal intelligentsia, and Ralph Nader is that Ralph is actually out there doing something; not just waxing hypothetical from his office. There is no value in the writings of any intellectual, no matter how brilliant, if theory is never put to practice.

In my opinion, Chomsky has done the people’s movement (if such a thing even exists anymore) a great disservice by giving legitimacy to the notion that we must choose between either the wolf or the wolf in sheep’s clothing. No progress is ever made if we fold at their every command.

Eugene Jarecki on The Daily Show

October 22nd, 2008 by evmonk

Eurgene Jarecki (director of “Why We Fight”) has a new book out, The American Way of War, and he lit the Daily Show on fire while promoting it earlier this week.

Jackecki wrote a stirring call to revolutionary action on The Huffington Post recently which is well worth the read.

Nader Press Corps on the Road

October 20th, 2008 by Manila Ryce

I’m in this one

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a video with a hundred plus pictures must be worth….oh I don’t know…let’s say 700 billion.

Nader-Gonzalez will campaign in all 50 states by the end of this election cycle–unlike the corporate candidates. Visit votenader.org/events to see when they’ll be near you. Onward.

Press Corps: Nick Bygon-Photograher, John Harrison and Hoop-video.

Obama McCain 2nd Debate: Breaking Down the Debate for Politico

October 8th, 2008 by Manila Ryce

Politico and YouTube teamed up to do a post-debate analysis and were stupid enough to ask Davis Fleetwood - a man not too impressed with either candidate - to participate. Against the power of the corporate establishment, supporters of democracy are constantly finding ways to inject Nader into the public discourse. Davis took this opportunity to do just that. Kudos.

Jonny 5 and Rosa Clemente at the DNC - Rise

October 5th, 2008 by Manila Ryce

It’s taken awhile for me to get this Denver footage out, but there will be more to come soon. It’s old, but the message still stands.

On August 27th in Denver, CO during the 2008 Democratic National Convention, the Nader campaign held an “Open the Debates Super Rally” in which Rosa Clemente, Sean Penn, Tom Morello, and Ralph Nader spoke to an audience of 4,000 people. Before the event, Iraq Veterans Against the War led a march towards the Pepsi Center where the Democrats were holding their convention. This is footage from that day.
